Susan Golets
SUSAN GOLETS recently retired from the Ontario Public Service, where she worked in progressively more responsible leadership positions. Over the course of 34 years, she developed strategies, policies and programs to address homelessness, advance women’s economic independence, and rollout the Ontario’s Early Years Program, along with other initiatives to increase access to post-secondary education for under-represented groups and more. Before becoming a civil servant, Susan worked for local not-for-profit organizations such as the Canadian Mental Health Association, Metropolitan Toronto and Supportive Housing Coalition to create supportive housing and related programs for homeless women or men, as well as persons with chronic mental health issues. In addition, Susan has served on several Boards of Directors including the Fred Victor Centre.
Susan holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto. She lives in East York and loves to read, walk, spend time with friends and family, and travel.

Abiona Centre is a client-centred infant and early childhood mental health organization which supports pregnant and parenting adolescents, aged 13 – 25.
